‘Dry All’ Filter Drier DMH-083F vs DMH-081BSPT

Would like to bring it to the notice of all our esteemed customers that ‘Dry All’ Filter Drier Model DMH 082F cannot be modified and used in place of DMH-081BSPT by using an adopter of 1/8” BSPT connection for ‘Refrigerant Recovery Machines’.

For the Refrigerant Recovery Machine, the recommended ‘Dry All’ model is DMH-081BSPT only.

The difference between commonly used Filter drier (for ex. DMH-083F) for Refrigeration and Airconditioning and Filter Drier (for ex. DMH-081BSPT) for Recovery Unit is as below:

To sum up, we cannot use DMH-083F against DMH-081BSPT for the following reasons.

  1. The Filter Drier used in the Refrigeration recovery unit has a connection size of 1/8” BSPT whereas the Filter drier used in HVAC Systems is flare, solder, or ‘O’ ring connection.
  2. To change from Flare to BSPT an adaptor will be required which can be a leak joint
  3. Due to this adaptor, there can be pressure drop issues as well
  4. The Molecular sieves used in the DMH-081BSPT is XH-9 as compared to the molecular sieve used in the most commercial use filter drier is XH-11.
  5. XH-9 Molecular sieve is used in Refrigerant extraction and purification system and in automotive HVAC systems such as cars, ships, etc.
  6. XH-11 Molecular sieve is used in Commercial and industrial HVAC&R systems.

Hence for the Refrigerant Recovery Machine, the recommended ‘Dry All’ model is DMH-081-BSPT only.

Based on the above please do not use any drier model other than the recommended one to protect your expensive recovery machine from permanent damage.
